Why being wrong is the point

Nobody learns anything from
an answer they already had.

Research on how children correct mistakes finds the same thing: errors made confidently get corrected more thoroughly than hesitant ones — provided the correction explains the reasoning that failed, and provided being wrong costs nothing. A grandmother, a mother and a librarian solve or survive these cases. The culprit is always a technique — never a parent. Case 08 is written so the father is moved by a very good advertisement, not fooled by an obvious one.

The last case is the check

In Case 10 the detective uses every tool correctly, accuses an innocent woman, and has to apologise. A child who suspects everybody has not got cleverer — they have found a way to stop having to check.

What exactly do I get, and when?

Is this a printed book?
No — these are digital. That is why a ₹799 set of two illustrated books costs less than one hardback. Every order includes a black-and-white interior built for a home printer if your child would rather write on paper, which most do.
My child is 7. Or 13. Will it work?
Written for 7–12. A confident 7-year-old will manage with someone reading alongside them. A 13-year-old will solve some cases quickly and still get caught by others — several of the traps in book two catch adults.
Do I need to buy book one first?
No. Each book stands completely on its own and teaches a different skill. Book one is about what you see; book two is about who is telling you. If you want both, ₹799 is ₹50 less than buying them separately.
Can I get a refund?
Because these are digital files that download instantly, they cannot be returned, so we do not offer refunds. What we do instead: if a file will not open, will not download, or arrives damaged, email us and we will send it to you directly, as many times as it takes, until it works. That promise has no time limit.
Is there anything alarming in these books?
No. There is no fear-mongering, no claims about brains or attention spans, and no invented statistics. Where a number appears it refers to real published research or a real regulatory action — and where the evidence is contested, the book says so.
